Embankment
Embankment underground station is beside Charing Cross station, which
has recently been rebuilt, and the impressive high arched roof of the offices
built over the tracks now dominates the the Embankment. A footbridge alongside
the railway tracks of Hungerford Bridge here will take you across to the
South Bank arts complex, including the Royal Festival Hall, the Queen Elizabeth
Hall and the National Theatre.
Further East along the Embankment, past Waterloo bridge, which probably
has the best views of the river, you get to Temple Tube station. Between
here and the
Strand lies one of the campuses of
Kings
College.
