On this Private London Walking Tour you will visit The Tower of London, Europe's best preserved medieval fortress and one of London's oldest buildings. It was established by William I (the conqueror) in 1067 and has held imprisoned many famous personalities of English history as well as being the site of execution of royalty and aristocracy.

Covering 18 acres the main places of interest include the Jewel House, containing the Crown Jewels and the White Tower a striking Norman keep which was whitewashed (hence its name). You will also see the chapel of St. John, one of the purist expressions of Norman architecture. Ceremony.

Tradition is provided by the Yeomen Warden who parade daily at 11:00am in the Inner Ward and can be seen throughout the grounds during the day.

Just down river from the Tower of London is Tower Bridge, a famous London landmark built 1886-94. The bridge can be visited and the view from the Towers provides a wonderful panorama of London all the way down the river towards Greenwich and Canary Wharf.
